Are there going to be any Windows Updates to Beta 2 before there is a release candidate 1? I'm finding the Vista Beta 2 to be extremely raw software. The default Microsoft video drivers with the nVidia 6800 aren't very good. The nVidia drivers were abysmal. I'm getting plenty of errors using various applications such as Windows Mail that cause it to restart. It doesn't feel usable by anyone but a pure beta tester at this point.

Any Windows Updates Before RC1?
The next drop for the CPP participants is RC1.

I am using NVIDIA's 88.61 driver set with the GeForce 6800 card - works great.
I downloaded the drivers in XP, copied to Vista and installed. I know NVIDIA suggests removing old NVIDIA drivers before installing new ones. With a clean install of Vista there shouldn't be any ''old'' ones on the system.

Let me rephrase your question for you.
If you really mean Windows Updates, yes there are updates several times a week. Open Windows Explorer, click on Tools, and select Windows Update.
You mention, nVidia drivers. I got a new nVidia driver from Windows Update, and now my video card works better, and has more options on my Vista boot than it does on my Windows 2000 boot. I have tried getting the latest driver from the nVidia site for Windows 2000, but when I try to install it it tells me that it can't find the hardware.
If you mean new downloads there is a new build 8456 already out for the MSDN and Technet subscribers.
If you got your build 8354 download as a CPP subscriber, then no, there will not be any more downloads before RC1.

Maybe TechNet has the latest but MSDN still has the Beta 2 from May 23.

Well he did miss the "5", but the latest Beta 2 build available to the TechBeta testers is in fact 5456. All the builds until RC1 will be Beta 2 builds. We had a dozen Beta 1 builds in TechBeta.

MSFT releases a Vista build every day to some testers if they want it, about once a month to Beta and TAP testers, and to what they consider the unwashed masses and suckers they market a build about every 4 months from Beta 2 which will include RC! and RC2 at least--so called "milestone Builds" although to look at them what constitutes "Milestone" in them is difficult to discern.
MSFT's party line on 3rd party drivers is they have nothing to do with the moronically slow pace of release of these drivers but in reality they plead with hardware manufacturers to release drivers much sooner and the hardware manufacturers ignore MSFT as you can see.

5456.5 isn't available for MSDN and MSFT hasn't been making interim builds available to them. The wisdom in this--zero.
